Updates



12/29/08 – The messageboard has long-since been removed due to exploits and scammers. There have been virtually no updates at all, and I’m sorry.  I lost starstuff.net and time lingered on and I’ve only now gotten around to ressurecting this in some form.  The true update is that I am now offering episode 11 in a direct download format.  Check the main page for the link!  I’ll also be updating the Emails section soon, as they never stopped flowing in.  I appreciate everyone’s support in this, I truly do.

As many of you already know via email:

It's been a while since most of you have heard from me and I apologize for my absence.  The BETAMAX-to-DVD project is still ongoing, but there have been delays for various reasons that I won't bore with you here.  More updates about that as they come.

The big news is this -- Thanks to Roger of Net Tech Industries, (who is also a fan of the show and made fun of me in an email for my horrible HTML skills) Starstuff Episode #11 is now available for download!  Roger has generously donated space to host the file.  In its zipped form, it's roughly 530MB.  Unzipped, roughly 600MB.  It is in MPG format and should be playable by any standard media player.  You can also burn it as a VCD.  If you're interested, email me and I'll send you the URL.  If you know what torrents are, here's the one for Starstuff Episode #11.

This is some of the greatest news to date!

You all probably thought I was dead, didn't you?

I feel terrible.  So many emails have gone unanswered, so many of you have been left in the dark in regards to DVD progress, so many of you are awaiting my go-ahead so I can ship you Episode #11... I'm sorry.  I truly am.  Truth be told, things have been abnormally hectic this past year.  I moved, I got married, there's a significant increase in responsibility at work, etc.  No excuses, just half-reasons.

Episode #11 is still available, and now it's completely free.  However, Chris D., Kevin B., Tom Q., Mike A., and Jim C. have been waiting for MONTHS for their free copies (sorry guys!).  I cannot guarantee when you'll receive them, but if you email me with your mailing address, you'll be added to the queue.

As of May 25th, over half of the BETAMAX -> DVD conversions for the full 18 episode boxed set have been completed by Shawn Van Der Poel.  Todd Porter and I are still arranging a meeting and potential presentation of some Starstuff memorabilia (old scripts and so forth).  This is the only significant Starstuff update available as of now.

If any of you have accounts on MySpace, I have created a Starstuff discussion group.  There's no activity right now, but it may be a convenient way for all of us to communicate publically.  An account on MySpace is required.

There are 26 new emails in the email section of this page!

BONUS #1 -- Would any of you like an email address @starstuff.net?  If so, let me know!  The address has no storage -- it's literally an alias that would forward to an existing email account.  If you would like one, email me with the email address you'd like @starstuff.net and the email address it should forward to.

BONUS #2 - Curious to see how age has treated our friend Todd Porter?  Here are two promotional shots he shared with me to pass along to all of you; picture #1 and picture #2.

Please be assured that I am just as dedicated to this project as I ever was!  The only thing that has changed is the amount of free time I have.  To those who have emailed me offering their assistance, I cannot thank you enough.

As of now:

Shawn Van Der Poel of radiotakeover.com is doing the BETAMAX -> DVD conversions.  The tapes are currently in his physical possession.

Jonathan Stein will be doing the artwork.  Jonathan has already made two logos; logo #1 (.jpg format) and logo #2 (.pdf format).  Nice work!

If there are any others who are interested in offering assistance, let me know!  If there are others who have already offered their assistance, offer it again!  I'm trying to get the cogs turning here so we're prepared for the completion of the BETAMAX -> DVD conversion process.
